How to Get There

By Car: The most common way is via self-drive from Windhoek (4.5–6 hours). A 4x4 is recommended, especially inside the park.

Top Things to Do in Sossusvlei
1. Climb Dune 45
Perhaps the most famous dune in Namibia, Dune 45 is 170 meters high and easily accessible from the main road. Climb it before sunrise for golden light and spectacular views.
2. Explore Deadvlei
A photographer’s dream, Deadvlei is a white clay pan dotted with 900-year-old dead camelthorn trees against red dunes and blue skies. Absolutely surreal.
3. Big Daddy Dune
